Both the Animals and US Presidents Stacks are available in the test drive. Just click either one to load it.
notefrog.com Use it: Don't Lose It
Test Drive the NoteFrog™ SuperSearch using this Page! Although much slower and without most of the program features, this page will demonstate some of the basic capabilities of the NoteFrog™ Personal Information Management system.
You build your own stacks over time, collecting and saving every scap of information you wish as simple free-form, unstructed notes. For this test drive we created two very small Stacks of notes: one about Animals and one of US presidents. Both were created in minutes using NoteFrog's "Automatic Clipboard Capture" feature while browsing the Web.
At the heart of NoteFrog™ is a very powerful free-form search that locates every match in every one of your notes as you type. There is also straight-forward multi-term ("AND" terms) search capability. As you input your search strings, the list of matching notes shrinks in real time as you type.
But for now, just close this Window and hop right in! Begin by just typing in the "Search" field at the top left. While you are taking Mister Frog out for a spin, you can click the ugly More Help button for more search tips and who knows what.
To start a new search, click the "Refresh" button.
That's "Mister" Froggy if you don't mind.

The Compound Search ("AND") Terms Box
NoteFrog™ has an extremely easy to use implementation of compound (AND) search capability. Simply hit the "Enter" key after each term of a compound search and continue typing the next term. For example, typing the sequence: tom[return] dick[return] harry
will display all your notes that contain all 3 of those terms anywhere in their content.
At anytime you are doing compound searches, the "AND" box displays all the past terms in your current search.
Irritating Popup Tips (relax- they aren't in the program, just this test drive)
While you are taking your test drive, the first time you move your mouse over the various sections you will see a small popup box containing a short description of the purpose of that section or control. The good news is, they will stop after they have been displayed a few times.
This Test Drive offers two stacks of notes to experiment with: "Useless Animals" and "US Presidents" (not to be confused). You may switch between the two stacks using the "Stacks" tab.
Get Hopping Click this popup window to close it and then move your mouse around a bit to get a feel for some of the controls. Pretty soon though, you will want to head up to the "Search" field at the top left and enter your search strings.
Click this Window to Close It
Clear the Search
The Clear Search control will cancel the current search, and return the list on the left to all items in the Stack in preparation for a new search.
Repeat the Previous Search
This control allows you to repeat the previous search. This is very handy when you are making changes to a number of notes of the same group. After changing and saving one, you can hit the Repeat Last Search control to bring that set of notes once again into instant view.
Using the NoteFrog™ Search: Give it a try right now.
Although this demo runs much slower than the program, at the heart of NoteFrog™ is a very powerful free-form search that locates every matching character string(s) in every one of your notes as you type. The search also offers straight-forward compound (AND) searching by simply hitting the carriage return after each term of a compound search.
A listing of all Stack Items containing the search term(s) is provided in the column at the left, and shrinks dynamically as fewer items match the search.
A new search of the entire stack can be initiated at any time by clicking on the "Refresh" button .
This Tab displays the Item Panel
The large scrollable Item Panel is where you create, edit, and view the full content of any of your notes- either as they are created, edited, selected from the list of notes at the left, or located through a search operation.
The Item List
The scrollable Item List on the left displays the first portion of the first line of each of your individual items that contain matches for your current search.
As you type your searches, Items which do not match are eliminated such that the list contains only Items which thus far still contain matches for your search. The list is scrollable, and clicking on any entry will display that Item's full content in the large Item Panel on the right.
This Tab displays the Stacks Panel
The Stacks Panel allows you to select any one of your Stacks to become the "Active" Stack. It also provides access to a system-wide Trash Stack which is available for the recovery of deleted items.
You populate your stacks over time, placing every tidbit of information in as you go. In Help at the NoteFrog™ website you will find suggestions and techniques that will make the grouping of notes possible and your searches even more targeted, however you will almost surely develop your own "systems" as you go.
Although only the first two stacks listed are included in the test drive, NoteFrog™ Professional Edition allows an unlimited number of stacks.
NoteFrog™ Free Edition users should not despair. Although you have only one stack, that stack can contain thousands of notes. And thanks to the unique "Tagging" capability that is implicit in the NoteFrog™ design, many users never need more than a single stack. You can read all about tagging in the Website FAQ section.
This Tab will display the Online Help Panel
At anytime that you are online, the Online Help panel provides you with a number of tools:
Important notifications, such as the availability of new releases.
Check for latest program version.
Access to the NoteFrog™ Home Page
Access to the Online Help Files.
Case Sensitive Search Checkbox
By default, searches are conducted as case insensitive, meaning that upper/lower case difference between the search string and the Item content are ignored.
For example, by default typing "tom" in the search string would match any of "Tom" "tom" "TOM" and so on in the note content. If you specifically wanted to search for only the name "Tom" then you would check the "Match Case" checkbox and enter "Tom" in the search field. Only the specific sequence "Tom" would then be a match.
Number of matching items
This field represents the total number of Items that contain at least one match for the current search. The items themselves are shown in the ever-shrinking scrollable list at the bottom left of the screen.
At the start of each new search the number shows the total number of Items in the stack. The number of matches decreases as you type causing non-matching individual items to be eliminated and the count of remaining matching items is displayed.
Whole Note Controls These controls are inactive for this read-only demo.
These controls perform actions on entire notes. This includes opening new blank notes as well as creating new notes from the Windows clipboard content.
You may also delete notes here. Deleted notes will actually be moved to a special Trash Stack where they may be recovered.
Individual Note Edit These controls are inactive for this read-only demo.
The controls in this section allow you to edit your item content. This includes font selections and all standard formatting such as bold, italic, color and size.
This Stack of Items was created in moments using the NoteFrog™ Automatic Clipboard Capture feature while browsing the Web.
Links in your notes, like this: http://www.useless-facts.net are clickable and will open in your browser. This makes for a great way to gather, group, and- for the first time ever- actually be able to find your bookmarks after you have saved them! Now won't that be nice. It also offers a fantastic way to include direct linking to helpful sites in your own reference notes.
Your notes may also include a variety of formatting such as: - Bold - Different Sizes - DifferentColors
- Centering - Different Font Selections AndMore
[For this note only, just the first line is included in search operations.]
